FAQs

Q: I'd like to become an active member in the BCC. How can I help?

A: There's a lot of things to do, and some of them we haven't even thought of yet! Send us an email and we'll include you!

Q: Do you have the latest beta on climbs around the Bitterroot?

A: Through a partnership with the UM Climbing Club, we're building a library of old and new topos that are open to anyone who's interested. Give Brett a call at 406-214-6616 for information regarding climbing beta and he can either help you out, or put you in touch with someone who can.

Q: How do I find climbers to climb with?

A: Well, there's a few great ways! Try facebook. Join the Bitterroot Climbers' Coalition Group or the UM Climbing Club Group! Send us an email and we'd love to go climbing with ya. Also, you can post your name & number on the UM Climbing Wall board.

Q: How did the BCC get started and why?

A: The BCC formed in the summer of 2007 in response to improper management of Lost Horse Canyon which is home to some of the best climbing in Montana. Land managers reopened a rock quarry which threatens the pristine nature of the canyon without much consideration of the user groups which frequent the area. The BCC was created as a unified voice, bringing together climbers from hundreds of miles around, to enable better dialogue and communication between climbers and the rest of the world.
